Increased investment in education focused on relevant skills for a rapidly growing economy. Education is what saved Dr. Mushimba — and OPP will ensure it saves the next generation. Skills, vocational training, science, technology, and the arts all have a role in a first-world Zambia.
Improving health status through better access, high-quality services, local drug manufacturing, and stronger infrastructure. No Zambian should travel hundreds of kilometres for basic care. No mother should lose her child to a preventable illness.
Making agriculture profitable and central to industrial raw materials, employment, and economic diversification. No Zambian family should go hungry in a country with some of the most fertile land on the continent.
A Zambia with no forced outages through an optimal mix of baseload power, renewables, and strategic energy security. Dr. Mushimba is an energy engineer. He has led Zambia's electricity sector. When he says Zambia can have reliable power — that is not a campaign promise. That is an engineering conclusion.
State-led development to position Zambia as a first-world regional hub for SADC and COMESA trade routes. Roads, rails, airports, digital infrastructure — built to first-world standards, connecting Zambia to the world and the world to Zambia.
Orderly development of mineral resources to increase employment, supply chains, processing, and broader economic growth. Zambia must stop exporting raw ore and start manufacturing finished goods. The value must stay in Zambia.
Zambians must not become renters in their own country. Transparent land administration that supports citizen property rights — so that every Zambian can own land, build a home, and raise a family with security and dignity.
Protecting Zambia's interests, promoting economic independence, and ensuring vital national interests are never sold at a discount. Any entity dealing with Zambia — whether a government, corporation, or international body — must understand that Zambia must win.
