Brian Mushimba grew up in Kankoyo, Copperbelt. He knows what it means to watch your mother rise before dawn to set up her market table. A ZCCM scholarship, discipline, and faith took him from Mpelembe Secondary School to engineering training in the United States - and he came back to serve.

During his tenure as Minister of Transport and Communications, Dr. Brian Mushimba modernized Zambia's infrastructure and legal framework by reviving Zambia Airways through a landmark joint venture with Ethiopian Airlines, upgrading regional aviation networks, establishing the nation's foundational cyber security laws, mandating a commercial shift of bulk cargo from road to rail, and deploying hundreds of communication towers to achieve rural digital inclusion
